2011 Child Abuse Prevention 5k Run/Walk Event

Geauga Job & Family Services are doing a Child Abuse Prevention 5K Run/Walk on April 16, 2011.  They did this last year and it was a pretty fun event.  The money raised will go to the Moorhead Scholarship for kids in foster placement.  The brochure and registration form are linked on a Facebook Event Page.   Also, if you know anyone interested in the community, please feel free to invite them.

MOORHEAD SCHOLARSHIP FUND


Elma and Paul Moorhead were foster parents for Geauga County and fostered more than 70 children over the years.  Due to their passion for foster children, a scholarship fund had been established on Paul and Elma’s behalf.

This fund has been set up for children who are ages 15 ½ to 21 and have been or are in GCJFS custody, aged out of GCJFS custody, were adopted after the age of 16, or in kinship placements.  The scholarship is to help children with Secondary Education, Training Programs, or other life readiness services.
